A 4WD adventure tour of the Discovery Coast and Hinterland. Explore the beaches from Woodgate to 1770 and the rugged and scenic terrain of Kroombit Tops. Visit beautiful National Parks in lesser known and under rated locations. Experience incredible camp sites, beach driving and challenging low range climbs and descents in the mountains around Cania Gorge. See the virtually untouched crash site remains of a WWII Liberator Bomber in a remote spot only accessible by 4WD.

YOUR 4WD

Should be in good mechanical condition, with high and low range capability. High clearance heavy duty suspension is recommended along with front and rear recovery points and cargo barrier for safety. We also recommend having top level road side recovery insurance such as RACQ Ultimate. 

Fuel

This tour takes you to some remote areas and fuel stops can be located many hundreds of kilometres apart. You will need to carry enough fuel for a range of up to 600 kilometres for this tour. More information on how to calculate fuel requirements for your vehicle is provided in the tour pack.

Spares and Equipment

A second spare rim with tyre, although not essential, is a good precaution. Basic tools and some spares for your vehicle are handy to have as well. If you have your own recovery gear you should bring it with you. More information on essential gear and setup is available in the tour info pack.

Driver Experience

Prior 4WD experience is not neccessary, we will assist you every step of the way.This is your opportunity to learn more about how to drive your 4WD in offroad and remote areas from someone who has been doing it for decades. Professional guidence on 4WD technique and vehicle recovery (within limits) is included

Food and water

All our tours are self catered so you will need to bring your own food and cooking gear, however there should be opportunities at a number of locations to dine at restaurants or purchase meals and supplies. In addition to your daily needs for food and water you will need to carry emergency supplies for 3 days including 20 litres of water per person.

Accomodation

Non-powered camping sites are included throughout this tour, however there may be opportunities to upgrade to a room subject to availability at certain locations. Off-road capable camper trailers can be used on this tour although trailers may need to be left at camp on day trips to places not suitable for trailers. Tents, swags and roof top tents are all suitable for use on this tour.

PAYMENT

A 20% non refundable deposit is needed to secure your booking. The full tour fee is payable 40 days prior to the tour. If you cannot make the tour for any reason, we will provide you with a credit to be used on another of our tours starting within 24 months of your original departure date. You should consider taking out Travel Insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances including illness, vehicle problems or family matters. 

POLICY

Madhat 4WD Adventures reserves the right to cancel or alter any tour at any time. If we cancel the tour prior to commencement your tour fees will be refunded in full. Tour program may change at any time due to unforeseen circumstances. Our main priority is keeping all participants safe and ensuring they have a good time while delivering what is promised.
